Screening for Drug-Drug Interactions Using a Targeted Proteomics Strategy

Screening for Drug-Drug Interactions Using a Targeted Proteomics Strategy

Overview
• Drug-drug interactions can often be measured by CYP induction and inhibition studies.
• This poster describes the use of a proteomics method to measure the extent of CYP induction.
• The levels of CYP proteins from induction studies were determined based on the levels of their surrogate tryptic peptides.
• Quantitation of peptides was accomplished using scheduled MRM including the corresponding heavy peptide analogs as internal standards.
• Induction results obtained this way were compared to the more traditional CYP activity assay utilizing probe substrates.
